Children (ages 6-10) For students just starting that are ages 6-10 the parents are required to sit in on the lesson to act as note takers and to learn with the student. This is a principle from the Suzuki guitar method. Parents attendance is required in order to accurately monitor practice at home. Students will use standard method books. More detail are discussed in the lessons.
Contemporary music (Teenagers and Adults) Play first, knowledge later. Students will not use any standard method books other than for supliment reasons. Lessons are geared to help student's own personal goals while teaching students why they are learning

Children and complete beginners Students will use "A Modern Approach to Classical Guitar" as well as supplemental material that covers reading music, music theory and beginning guitar repertoire. For children, ages 6-10, parents are required to be in the lesson.
Teenagers and adults Students will use supplemental technique books as well as books for repertoire.
